Meet Lesley Charles, Leasing Manager

Lesley conducts on-site tours, provides guidance through the leasing process, and reviews lease renewal options. Building and maintaining relationships through community outreach is a key component to his role. He works closely with all team members to deliver the AVE lifestyle.
Q: What is a typical workday like for you?
While I have my routine, each day brings new opportunities. Throughout the day, you can find me reviewing our current availability, walking apartments, scheduling tours with prospective residents, entering service orders for residents, connecting with residents and Realtor partners, and planning resident events and social content with the team.
Q: How long have you been working in this industry?
I’ve been in the industry for 10 years and with AVE for almost 3 years! The highlight of my career has been helping people throughout Massachusetts and Northern New Jersey find their new home.
Q: What do you love most about being a part of the AVE team?
I love that every team member supports one another. We all have the same goal of building a sense of community and delivering an elevated living experience.
Q: What is your favorite amenity or service at AVE Clifton and why?
AVE is one of a kind! I love our flexible living solutions. Whether someone’s life is in transition, or they need a more permanent option, AVE has a solution. We offer both luxury apartments and flexible-stay fully furnished apartments. I love our community social channels as well. They are great platforms to connect with our residents, prospects, and team members. I can’t forget our amenities, including the resort-style pool and 24-hour fitness center. They are convenient on-site perks.

Q: What is your hometown?
Brookline, Massachusetts.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
I am a huge sports fanatic. My favorite sports are basketball and football. I played college football in Buffalo, NY, and coached youth basketball for many years. In my free time, I play pick-up basketball games at my local gym. Although I no longer play football, I participate in Fantasy Football leagues each year.
Q: What is your favorite spot in the Northern New Jersey area and why?
My wife and I love to visit The Haven, which is a restaurant in Bergen County. They have great food and amazing New York City views! I love that Northern New Jersey is conveniently located to New York City! It’s so close that it feels like Manhattan is in my back yard.
Q: What are 2 or 3 fun facts about you that we might not know?
I enjoy music and art, have a dog named Kino, and share the same name as my wife.
