One of the many perks of living at AVE Tampa Riverwalk is our complimentary resident bike share program, made accessible through the user-friendly Bloom app. To get riding, residents can simply download the app and stop by resident services to check out an AVE bike.
AVE Tampa Riverwalk is conveniently located at the 1.3-mile marker, between the riverwalk's two ends and adjacent to the Curtis Hixon Dog Park, so you have the freedom to choose which direction you’d like to explore.
For today’s route, we are going to bike to the entrance of the Tampa Riverwalk and make our way to the top!
Stop #1: The Florida Aquarium

Begin your journey to the entrance of the Tampa Riverwalk by turning left onto the pathway at Curtis Hixon Dog Park. Upon reaching the riverwalk entrance, your first stop awaits: The Florida Aquarium. This nationally acclaimed attraction is home to over 20,000 fascinating animals, including sharks, alligators, seahorses, and more.

Stop #2: Sparkman Wharf

After you’ve explored the aquarium, pedal over to Sparkman Wharf for fresh air and waterfront views. Enjoy a variety of food at upscale counter-order food vendors!

Stop #3: Tampa Bay History Center

Following your outdoor excursion, take a trip to the past with a visit to The Tampa Bay History Center. As a Smithsonian affiliate, this museum features interactive exhibits and theaters that delve into 12,000 years of Florida's rich history. If you’d like to have lunch inside, be sure to grab a delicious Cubano sandwich from the Columbia Cafe.

Stop #4: Big Ray's Fish Camp on The Tampa Riverwalk

For a casual outdoor dining experience, make your way to Big Ray's Fish Camp, a highly rated counter-order seafood spot. Don't miss their must-try dishes: the grouper sandwich and lobster corn dog.
Stop #5: Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park Splash Pad

Post-lunch, bike back up the riverwalk past MacDill Park until you reach Glazer Children’s Museum (perfect if you have little ones in tow) and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. This 8-mile park boasts a great lawn, a dog park, kiosks, bathrooms, and two splash pads.
Once you’ve cooled off, hop back on your bike and continue your riverwalk adventure, past the Straz Center for Performing Arts — a familiar site for AVE Tampa Riverwalk residents who are neighbors to this prestigious performing arts venue. Enjoy a scenic 1-mile bike ride as you make your descent to the North end of the Tampa Riverwalk.
Stop #6 & 7: Ulele and Armature Works

To complete your day, treat yourself to a fabulous dinner at Ulele, known for its native-inspired foods, including alligator hush puppies and remarkable seafood dishes. Don't forget to explore Armature Works, an industrial, multi-purpose space that houses upscale food and dessert vendors, bars, and shopping. Whether you prefer a nightcap at the bar or a delicious dessert, the choice is yours!
Wrap up your day with a leisurely bike ride back to AVE Tampa Riverwalk, completing your memorable Tampa Riverwalk adventure.
