These two events draw in excited spectators who stay in Phoenix throughout the months of October to February and are ready to see their dream cars or experience the most iconic hole in the PGA Tour.
The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is a world-class automotive lifestyle event. 50,000 to 70,000 car junkies attend, getting the chance to bid on and view thousands of the world’s most sought-after, unique and valuable vehicles.
The Waste Management Open, also known as “The Greenest Show on Grass” and “The People’s Open,” is more than just a golf tournament. It’s famous for the high-energy atmosphere, especially at the iconic, “loudest hole in golf,” the 16th hole. The Open attracts over 700,000 visitors, a mix of golf fans and networkers who are there for the social scene of luxury tents and food/drink options.
Where to Stay
These two legendary events have one thing in common – they bring in extended-stay visitors to the Phoenix area. AVE Phoenix Terra, AVE Phoenix Sky and AVE Paradise Valley offer flexible-stay furnished apartments, perfect for anyone who needs a short-term rental while in Phoenix for these events.

“People are here for three or four weeks enjoying both events, meaning that during those weeks, residents will be looking for comfortable accommodations and to feel at home. You feel like you’re at home when staying with AVE because of amenities like a fully accessorized kitchen, bed and bath linens, and dedicated service team right on site.”
Visitors will have a resort-style experience right at AVE with sparkling pools, fire pit lounges, state-of-the-art fitness centers, and fun resident events.
The locations are convenient, too.
Breann says there are plenty of delicious restaurants and fun concert venues just footsteps from all three AVE properties. “Our Resident Service team is also well versed with suggestions, so residents may always ask for personalized recommendations,” says Breann.
Food & Drink
Whether you are craving a pasta dish from Pomo Pizzeria Napoletana, a burger from The Vig, or homemade pizza from Cibo, the answer to the “What’s for dinner?” question is right next door.
When staying at AVE Paradise Valley, the dining options are endless. Blanco Cocina, Flower Child, and The Rosticceria are all delicious, and the list goes on!
Shopping
When looking for a souvenir from your time spent in Phoenix, head to two local boutiques for that Phoenix flare. Both Made Art Boutique and Bunky Boutique are local to the area and unique in their charm. If you are looking for a shop you know you can count on, one can never go wrong with Urban Outfitters, which is also right down the street.
For AVE Paradise Valley, Biltmore Fashion Park, Fashion Square and Scottsdale Quarter are all the local’s favorite shopping. There is also a T.J. Maxx, Target, and Sephora footsteps away, perfect for a quick outing.
Entertainment/Local Attractions
After a day spent on the golf course or at the automobile auction, check out other attractions that make Phoenix so special, like Roosevelt Row or Chase Field. Roosevelt Row is a walkable art district, housing many galleries, restaurants, bars and more. Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns, is also in proximity for all the sports fans.
No matter how you choose to spend your time in Phoenix, residents are guaranteed a resort-style experience at any AVE location, at any time. So, for our annual visitors who have these two large events marked on their calendars year after year, they can count on AVE to deliver flexible living. Let your trip to Phoenix be full of beautiful cars, perfect strokes, and a carefree, stay at AVE.
