5 Things to Do at Armature Works in Downtown Tampa

The historic industrial-style building was once an old warehouse dating back to 1910, where it was used to repair Tampa’s Street cars. Today, there’s new life breathing in the original exposed brick walls, and it’s become an anchor to the Tampa Riverwalk. That’s right, this dynamic destination can be reached via the extended riverwalk, making it a convenient trek from AVE Tampa Riverwalk furnished apartments and luxury apartments.
1. Discover Food and Drinks at Heights Public Market
Heights Public Market is a foodie’s dream boasting over 15 carefully curated eateries in an elevated food court setting. The sizable space caters well to large groups and is perfect for trying dishes from different spots. From creative empanadas at Empamamas to the social media-famous birraquesa tacos from Muchachas, the culinary options are diverse. 2. Take a Free Workout Class
Armature Works partners with local fitness studios to offer free workout classes open to the public. Most classes are open to all levels, free every time, and end with an optional social activity (usually including discounts on food or beverages inside). JetSet Pilates offers an hour long mat pilates class on Saturdays to start your weekend off right. Stretch into Sunday mornings with yoga on the South Lawn, boasting inspiring Hillsborough River views or Yoga on the Lawn with Kodawari Studios. There’s also several run clubs that meet at Armrature Works on a regular basis, including Run Tampa.
3. Enjoy Local Live Music
Find a comfortable spot to unwind on the South Lawn and enjoy live music coupled with scenic waterfront views. Every Friday and Saturday from 7– 9 pm, talented artists take the stage to perform a complimentary show open to the public. On Saturday nights, head into Heights Public Market and grab a creative cocktail or mocktail from Bar AW and enjoy a live DJ set from 9 pm–midnight.
4. Experience M. Bird
Named after Florida’s state bird, the mockingbird, M. Bird perches high above Armature Works as the building's rooftop restaurant and bar featuring panoramic waterfront and cityscape views with incredible sunsets. Indulge in tropical cocktails and small plates with Caribbean and continental flair. M.Bird also features a live DJ Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights until 2 am and ‘Sunday Fundays’ every Sunday from 3–7 pm, with options to book private tables.
5. Shop the Holiday Heights Night Market
Enjoy a magical evening under twinkling string lights at The Holiday Heights Night Market. This free event is held outdoors on Seventh Avenue in front of Armature Works every second Wednesday of the month from 5:30–9:30 pm. Support Tampa’s local artisans as you shop for handmade jewelry, art, and other unique pieces. The 15 eateries in Heights Public Market are also open so you can grab a bite as you explore.
