If you are a communications professional who is passionate about producing impactful content to diverse stakeholders over a wide variety of channels, look no further! AVE is currently seeking a Brand Communications Associate to execute its reputation and omnichannel messaging strategies within existing and new communications and marketing programs including but not limited to social media, resident and internal communications, brand campaigns, and public relations, ensuring they meet or exceed performance KPIs, as well as align with the brand's values, vision, and mission.
This is an entry-level, collaborative content marketing role that will have exposure to all functions within a high-volume, hands-on Marketing & Communications team supporting a growing national portfolio of first-class residential communities.
They will report directly to the Brand Communications Manager with accountabilities to the SVP of Communications, be an active member of the AVE Marketing & Communications team, and work closely with Community Leadership and cross-functionally with Brand Departments including but not limited to Operations, Asset, IT, Talent Acquisition, and HR.
This position will be based 100% on-site at our AVE Phoenix Terra community, with travel to other AVE locations nationwide approximately 10-15% of the time based on business need.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver strong brand reputation through communications programs to drive trust
- Shape how our brand and residential communities show up online and resonate with residents, prospects, and partners
- Serve as the go-to communications specialist for a diverse portfolio of AVE communities and deliver industry- and market-leading results in social media presence, online reputation, resident communications, and lifestyle marketing
- Work effectively cross-departmentally with communications leadership, property teams, and operations and IT leadership to execute service-focused resident communications
- Collaborate with property teams to plan a monthly calendar of thoughtful resident events to deliver a sense of community
Social Media
- Facilitate monthly social media, online reputation, and resident event strategy meetings with assigned communities to review performance, brainstorm content, and establish measurable goals
- Manage/execute Paid/Organic Social Media Program for assigned communities
- Produce social media graphics, short-form videos, and creative assets that reflect AVE's brand identity and sales goals
- Present competitive analysis and program performance on a quarterly basis
- Stay informed on the latest social and digital trends, proposing innovative ideas and strategies to enhance the AVE brand presence
Online Reputation
- Monitor online reviews daily across Google, Yelp, Apartments.com, and other key platforms for assigned communities
- Respond to reviews with service mindset
- Support assigned communities with review generation strategy
- Present competitive analysis and program performance on a quarterly basis
Resident Lifestyle & Graphics
- Collaborate with assigned communities on Resident Event ideation to deliver AVE lifestyle at all communities
- Support assigned communities with Resident Event promotions
- Ensure all creative materials are consistent with AVE's branding
Resident Communications
- Exhibit proficiency in Notifii resident communications platform including maintaining group accuracy for assigned communities
- Be an active participant in a monthly cross-departmental resident communication strategy call and own execution of resident communication needs for assigned communities
- Draft all resident communications with a service-mindset and in the brand voice
- Support assigned communities with daily resident communication requests
- Provide 24/7 emergency resident communication assistance to all communities - rotational with 3 other communications team members
- Be an active participant in the Monthly Communications and Operations Resident Communication Strategy Call
Internal Communication
- Develop and send internal communications when lead is out-of-office
Blog Marketing
- Deliver a minimum of 3 blog posts per quarter for our website to support brand public relations and SEO marketing goals
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Support brand CSR initiatives, including planning and promotion for AVE's charitable campaigns and community partnerships
- Collaborate with the Brand Communications Manager to amplify CSR campaigns through social media, email, and community engagement
Public Relations
- Collaborate with the Brand Communications Manager to creatively market and amplify brand features, awards, and media placements across digital channels
- Gather visuals, event recaps, and story details to support PR initiatives and press opportunities
- Ensure all PR content shared internally and externally aligns with AVE's brand messaging and tone
- Support with internal communication Media Alerts
- Maintain PR documents and libraries
Talent Acquisition Support
- Produce and implement engaging content that highlights the AVE employment experience and culture to support Talent Acquisition team initiatives and goals
Requirements:
- B.S. in English, Writing, or Communications - will consider Public Relations degrees or Marketing degrees with Social Media focus or concentration
- 2 years of experience executing effective communications for an organization in one or more of the following Program Areas: General Communications, Social Media, Public Relations, or Internal Communications
- 1 year of proven experience writing communications or producing content for a brand/business (may include internships)
- High proficiency with social media platforms
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
- The ability to remain calm and perform under pressure - you will need to ask questions and provide guidance/solutions and send communications for property emergencies
- Tech savvy and quick to learn digital systems
- Strong project management, organization, and follow-up skills
Compensation
- $50,000-$60,000/year
Individual compensation decisions will vary as the annual base compensation range provided is approximate and determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, education, and geographic location. AVE also offers additional bonus potential paid out on a monthly and/or quarterly basis (dependent upon the position), which is not included in the base compensation range listed above.
