Manna

Korman Communities founder Steven H. Korman has been a longtime supporter of MANNA, a nonprofit that prepares and delivers nourishing meals and counsel to those who are at acute nutritional risk due to life-threatening illnesses. In 2015, to celebrate Steven’s leadership and dedication to their mission, MANNA organized the SHK Day of Caring, which has become an annual tradition where Steven’s friends, family, and Korman team members volunteer in the kitchen to support with meal prep.

Kelly's Kidz

In 2021, AVE President Lea Anne Welsh met Angela Fagnani, Program Director with Kelly’s Kidz, and she introduced the nonprofit and its mission to provide comfort and entertainment to children being treated in local hospitals spearhead by founder and Philly Media Personality Bob Kelly. Lea Anne immediately wanted to help and shared the organization with the AVE teams in Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey. That year, the teams organized a “Holiday Spirit of Giving” drive collecting about 30 Santa Sacks of toys for the children at St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia. The teams look forward to this being a joyful annual holiday tradition.

Back-to-school Supplies Drives

Donating back-to-school supplies to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Jersey Cares, and Cradles to Crayons has been a tradition with our New Jersey and Greater Philadelphia communities since 2018. We were so excited to see our team in Austin, Texas hop on the school bus this year and partner up with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office to host a drive to gather donations of backpacks, binders, notebooks, calculators, crayons, pencils, rulers, and scissors for students from K-5 in Travis County, Texas.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

For decades, AVE has hosted a toy drive annually with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to make the holidays brighter for kids in our communities. Donations are raised during the holiday season as part of resident and partner events with special appearances by Santa.

American Red Cross

Since 2018, AVE communities in King of Prussia, PA and Florham Park, NJ have hosted annual blood drives to support American Red Cross. Recipients include Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, Einstein Medical Center of Philadelphia, Inspira Health Network, and Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
