IT Field Support Technician

As the IT Field Support Technician for AVE, you are responsible for providing high-level field support as well as facilitating hardware maintenance and administration for our property business systems. You must be passionate about learning new systems and technologies quickly and have the desire to take on new responsibilities to continue to evolve in your role. You must have the ability to act with a sense of urgency and work well both independently and as part of a team.

This will be an on-site position based out of our Northern New Jersey properties. Travel to all properties in the AVE portfolio nationwide (particularly in Pennsylvania and New Jersey) will be required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide remote and onsite support for Korman Communities' applications, systems, and infrastructure
  • Understand the requirements of the organization and suggest changes or upgrades in the network to IT Leadership
  • Install and upgrade the systems with virus protection software, anti-spyware, firewall protection software, etc.
  • Document the specifications of each site and system and maintain a record for asset planning and management
  • Learn property management related concepts - excellent communication and writing skills are a must
  • Interface with executives, onsite team members and 3rd Party Software Vendors
  • Install and troubleshoot various hardware and software 
  • Set up new computers and other business systems 
  • Create and maintain images for new computers 
  • Maintain IT inventory including hardware and software 
  • Resolve issues with vendors' support teams as needed
  • Resolve issues in person and via remote software 
  • Manage and utilize the IT ticketing system
  • Create, manage and terminate user accounts and manage security profiles for all systems  
  • Answer the Help Desk phone and emails in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Must be available for maintenance, troubleshooting, project implementations, and after-hours support as necessary

Job Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
  • Minimum of 3 years of help desk, network administration, and audio-visual support experience
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel throughout all AVE markets nationwide as needed
  • Must be a fast learner and self-starter
  • Exceptional proficiency in general computer and software skills 
  • High detail orientation and work ethic 
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work effectively with minimal supervision 
  • Must have building management system experience such as camera systems, building WiFi, door lock systems, audio/video systems, etc.

Required Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Windows 10, MacOSX support 
  • Office365/SharePoint/Azure Support 
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, Outlook, Office 365, Adobe 
  • Knowledge of basic and advanced client-side and server-side operating systems 
  • Knowledge of software technologies and virus protection software systems 
  • Experience with the following strongly preferred but not required: Yardi Property Management System, Oscar Property Management System, Sell Contact Management, SQL, Logmein, and Meraki Firewall/VPN/Web Filter#
