Social Media & Online Reputation Specialist

As the Social Media & Online Reputation Specialist for AVE, you are responsible for collaborating with Marketing Leadership and the on-site teams to deliver local social media and online reputation channels that reflect best-in-market positioning and align with the local marketing plans to drive qualified leasing traffic and resident retention. You must be passionate about social media marketing and online reputation, stay on top of constantly evolving digital marketing trends, and be a cheerleader for these programs throughout the organization, inspiring all team members to drive industry-leading performance across the portfolio. The Social Media & Online Reputation Specialist must have a strong visual aesthetic and technical skillset to produce photo/video content in line with brand visual guidelines. You will report directly to the VP, Brand Communications & Content Strategy.

This will be an on-site position based out of any one of our AVE property locations. Travel to all properties in the AVE portfolio nationwide will be required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Social Media (50%)
    • Facilitate monthly social media/online reputation planning meetings with on-site teams, tie teams to performance, and collaboratively brainstorm ways to drive results through these programs
    • Coach existing Community Managers in their execution of local social media to achieve results and elevate AVE's digital positioning in their market
    • Execute local social media program for properties without Community Managers
      • Create and post content in alignment with business goals
      • Respond to engagements with service mindset
    • Pull monthly social media/online reputation performance metrics and add to property workbooks so teams are tied to program performance
    • Train new Community Managers per AVE social media training program to so they understand program goals, brand expectations, and channel best practices
    • Create and distribute quarterly market analysis so teams understand program positioning in market
    • Attend monthly calls with SOCi Account Manager to discuss program performance and product innovation and then activate with teams
    • Host quarterly campaign kick-off calls with General Managers/Leasing Managers to tie teams to editorial calendar and inspire content ideation
    • Execute post updates to Google Business Profiles to create public awareness around sales opportunities and drive traffic
    • Facilitate monthly Social Snaps recognition to share program best practices across portfolio
  • Online Reputation (25%)
    • Float all reviews to leadership and on-site teams for visibility and motivation
    • Respond to reviews when there is no Community Manager with customer-service mindset
    • Gain background on escalated reviews and draft responses for leadership review
  • Photo & Video (15%)
    • Execute apartment-level photo and video strategy to support property leasing needs
      • Execute video uploads to Vimeo
      • Serve as Realync system expert
      • Audit property accounts/submissions to ensure system adoption and tie General Managers to performance
      • Provide training to new team members and coaching to existing team members
    • Resident Lifestyle (10%)
      • Support teams with Resident Event ideation to drive AVE lifestyle at all communities
      • Produce Resident Event promotional materials, when there is no Community Manager or when Community Manager is OOO to support with marketing of resident events
      • Serve as a back-up to execute Resident Communications tickets (non-emergency)


  • Experience executing social media marketing for a brand/company/nonprofit/small business
  • Experience using social media channels and video sharing platforms for business purposes (Facebook/Instagram/Vimeo/YouTube/Realync)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be positive, professional, and team-oriented in order to effectively collaborate with marketing and on-site teams
  • Ability to learn technical systems quickly and leverage to drive results
  • Proven success in delivering strategic, creative content to achieve business goals
  • Ability to train new team members on WHY behind programs, systems, execution, brand standards, etc.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities based on business need
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel throughout all AVE markets nationwide as needed
