The Quinns Share Their AVE Blue Bell Apartment Story

AVE Blue Bell

09.07.2021

Almost two years ago, Kim and Scott Quinn’s 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom nest became empty. The youngest of their three sons had moved out, leaving just the Montgomery County couple, along with their sociable, 14-year-old, dachshund Dexter, to maintain a 4,400-square foot home and an acre of land. “I had been scheduled for a right hip replacement the day before Thanksgiving, and knowing that I’d be on my own for physical therapy during the pandemic, we knew it was time to downsize and live more carefree,” Kim shares.

Now determined to break free, they visited several condo and apartment communities in Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting, and King of Prussia, but after touring AVE Blue Bell with Regional Leasing Manager Lauren Brauer, they were sold. “AVE Blue Bell was just finishing up construction, and we scheduled an appointment with Lauren to see the model apartment,” says Kim. “Our initial reaction was that it was a vacation resort.”

The Quinns moved into their first-floor apartment with 10’ ceilings, abundant windows, and an open concept layout on September 15, 2020. “It’s always bright and we have a large patio with a beautiful view of the gardens in the courtyard,” says Kim. “We can entertain a large group in our apartment without being on top of each other. I love to cook and the kitchen is perfect – tons of storage!”

The community amenity space has become an extension of the Quinns’ living room. Both Kim and Scott use the fitness center every day. “Now that I’ve recovered from my surgery, I use the elliptical, rowing machine, and treadmill, and I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been,” she exclaims. Dexter also takes full advantage of the amenities catering to furry residents, from the pet spa to Yappy Hours. “Dexter thought this place was all his since the day we moved in,” Kim says. “When we’re in the car and approaching AVE, he gets up on the arm rest and starts wagging his tail. He knows this is his home.”

While Kim and Scott love their new respite, they also appreciate the energy and sense of community at AVE Blue Bell. “It’s nice to go out into the courtyard, relax on the loungers, and enjoy the company of other residents,” shares Kim. Right after the Quinns moved in, the team organized a Welcome Reception for new residents. They loved the refreshments and meeting their new neighbors. “We’ve watched kids get dressed up for Halloween; we’ve watched them enjoy an Easter egg hunt. We’ve attended concerts in the courtyard from our patio listening to an acoustic guitarist,” she says. “The neighbors are great and everyone seems to have unique stories as to how they landed here.”

While Scott has fully embraced resort-style living and “not having a to-do list,” he also loves the convenient location. “There is no maintenance here. We have everything we need,” he says. “And I’m 10 minutes to work and all the local restaurants.”

The Quinns recently renewed their lease at AVE Blue Bell for another year, largely due to the team and level of service they receive. “The team here is outstanding,” Kim exclaims. “They are so friendly and funny, and truly have become like family,” says Kim. “They just can’t do enough for you,” Scott adds.

In June, Scott’s parents visited from Florida and were so impressed, they joined the wait list for an early 2022 move-in!
