As the Assistant General Manager at AVE Union, Roxanne is responsible for rent collection and billing for the community, while providing the highest level of service to residents. She oversees accounts payables, partner contracts, and maintains accurate files to ensure operational efficiency.
Q: What is a typical workday like for you?
I love that my typical workday is dynamic and engaging. During the day, I’ll assist residents with requests ranging from inquiries about their resident ledger to maintenance service orders. On our busier days, I’ll jump in to help our Resident Services and Leasing team members, which has helped me learn the different aspects of the organization. Each day truly is so unique making it that much more exciting!
Q: How long have you been working in this industry?
I have been working in the hospitality industry for more than 11 years. Over this past year at AVE, I have gained so much new knowledge from a property management standpoint.
Q: How did you hear about AVE and the Assistant Manager opportunity?
The Talent Acquisition team contacted me directly on LinkedIn as my previous management experience and proven success in the hospitality industry aligned with the available opportunity at AVE Union. I further discussed the role and company culture with our Talent Acquisition Specialist, Kelli, and immediately knew it was a mutual fit. AVE’s unique offering of both unfurnished apartments and fully furnished flexible stay apartments is what piqued my interest. This month marks my 1-year anniversary, and I am so grateful for the support I’ve received from everyone at AVE.
Q: What do you love most about being a part of the AVE team?
What I love most about being a part of the AVE team is the amount of support I’ve received from my fellow team members at AVE Union as well as the teams at other properties and leadership. Everyone is always willing to offer a helping hand whenever they can. It makes me excited to continue my career journey at AVE!
Q: What is your favorite amenity or service that AVE provides and why?
My favorite service at AVE is our resident events. The entire team contributes to the entire process of brainstorming ideas, planning, setting up, and decorating. During our events, it brings me so much joy to catch up with our residents, see them engage with their neighbors, and even make new friends!
Q: What is your hometown?
I was born and raised in the Big Apple state, New York!
Q: What is your favorite hobby and why?
My favorite hobby is reading and listening to audiobooks. I love compelling stories and learning new ideas from every book I read.
Q: What is your favorite spot in the New Jersey area and why?
I have lived in New Jersey for 6 years now and my favorite spot is Weehawken. It overlooks the Hudson River and has breathtaking views of New Jersey and New York. It’s a great area to try new restaurants as well.
Q: What are 3 fun facts about you that we might not know?
At three years old, I was an extra in a movie that my mom was starring in, I love to cook and try new recipes, and my favorite place to travel to is Puerto Rico. I love it so much that I have visited a total of eight times in the last four years!
