MEET JOHN SABELLI, CHEF AT DI BRUNO BROS.

THE FRANKLIN RESIDENCES

As a Chef at Di Bruno Bros., John Sabelli gets to prepare food for the local residents in the Philadelphia area, including those who live at The Franklin Residences, making everyone feel like a part of the Di Bruno family. “It’s been such a pleasure working out of The Franklin Residences! I love the Di Bruno’s company and everyone I’ve met over the years at this establishment. I get to work with family every day at Di Bruno’s and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!”

Q: Where are you from?
A: I grew up in South Philly and currently reside in Washington Township, NJ. I catered for over 20 years. I've also been married for 19 years with two kids, Francesca and Giovanni, and have a dog named Bambino.

Q: How long have you been working at Di Bruno Bros.?
A: My wife is a Di Bruno and I've been a part of the family business since 2005.

Q: What is your favorite part of the job?
A: Getting to know the people and residents – seeing familiar faces and making sure everyone has the best customer experience.

Q: What is a day in the life?
A: I'm the Hot Bar Specialist/Chef, so I prepare all the food for breakfast and lunch.
 
Q: What is your favorite dish to prepare at home?
A: Gnocchi and chicken marsala.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I'm a South Philly native, so I'm a huge Philly sports fan – I love the Phillies, Eagles, and 76ers. My first job ever was at the Veterans Stadium at 16 years old. I also love spending time with my family and kids, who are heavily involved in athletics and clubs.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant?
A: Pasta Pomodoro, which is in Washington Township, NJ.
