MEET JOCELYN VASQUEZ, REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

As Regional Director of Business Development, Jocelyn identifies corporations and organizations in the East Bay of San Francisco that would benefit from the flexible, month-to-month furnished apartment service at AVE Emeryville and AVE Walnut Creek. She builds relationships within the community and develops new partnerships to support the short-term housing needs of the market. Jocelyn also works closely with the on-site teams to ensure her clients are receiving a first-class experience.

Q: What is your hometown?

Q: How long have you been with AVE?

Q: What is a typical workday like for you?
There is no typical day! But my routine is to start off my day reading the news to see if I can identify any business opportunities, then I dedicate time to phone outreach and follow-up emails. Hopefully, I have community tours throughout the day, and I make sure to connect with my teammates and General Manager on rates and inventory. I’ll spend the afternoon canvassing or stopping by various organizations to visit clients or to get appointments.

Q: What brings you the greatest satisfaction in your role?
There is so much enjoyment with this role that it’s hard to pick just one, but I thoroughly enjoy building relationships and meeting people. The greatest satisfaction is when I can see that I have established trust with others, so they choose AVE and continue to choose AVE, as we have helped them in a time of need.

Q: What is your favorite amenity or service that AVE offers?
Wow, again, it’s difficult to choose just one, because we deliver such an exceptional resident experience; however, I think my favorite is how pet-friendly we are.

Q: What is your favorite quote and why?
It’s not my favorite, but had to share this one, as it came through today: “Today, don’t let anyone rent a space in your head unless they’re a good tenant.” Otherwise, my favorite quote is “You must either modify your dreams or magnify your hustle.”

Q: What is your favorite spot in the East Bay of San Francisco and why?
There are so many, but one of my favorites is Jack London Square being on the water with the Farmers Market, views of the city and picnicking out on the lawn with family and friends is an ultimate favorite gathering.

Q: What’s something interesting about you that we might not know?
I completed Police Academy Training and considered a career as a Probation Officer in my past life.
