As the regional director of
The Franklin Residences, Emily is responsible for the overall sales and operations of the iconic, apartment community in Center City, Philadelphia with the goal to deliver a first-class living experience for all residents. No two days are the same for Emily, which she loves. Her leadership style is “lead by wandering,” and you will spot her throughout the property, in the mix with her service and sales team members and the residents.

Q: How long have you been with AVE?
13 years in various roles – resident services, sales, and operations management
Q: What is a typical workday like for you?
There is no typical work day, which I love! But no matter what my day holds, the constant in each day is getting to interact with our extraordinary residents and team members and learn more about them and the paths that led them to The Franklin Residences.
Q: What brings you the greatest satisfaction in your role?
I thoroughly enjoy meeting people, and this career has led me to meet some of the most amazing colleagues, residents and mentors, who have helped shape who I am today.
Q: What is your favorite AVE amenity or service?
The Franklin’s grand and historic lobby. This gorgeous space is what The Franklin is known for since it was built in the 1920s. It’s also where we first meet our new residents, where we send them off each day, and host resident appreciation events. It’s the central gathering space for everyone, and that brings life and vibrancy to this already magnificent space!
Q: What is your favorite quote and why?
I’m not a quote gal, but my team will attest to me always asking what we can learn or do differently to improve, so I am a firm believer that, “In every mistake, there is potential for growth.”
Q: What is your favorite spot in Philadelphia and why?
I would go to a championship celebration or parade on Broad Street any time, any day. The energy is palpable. Everyone is high-fiving and smiling and hugging, and time is almost suspended by such a compressed level of joy among strangers.
Q: What’s something interesting about you that we might not know?
My new last name is Haynes, so don’t be shocked when my signature changes, it’s still me!
Q: Why do you love your job/working at AVE?
When I first started out in my career after college, I knew that I wanted to create connections with passionate and inspiring people, which has been one of the greatest aspects of working for the Korman family and AVE team. I continue to work with the best in the industry, from all different backgrounds, who I am lucky enough to observe and absorb knowledge through their experiences. As a result, it has empowered me to reach further into my career and continue to grow to be a mentor for others, which is so much more than I set out to do when I started working with them 13 years ago.
