As Assistant Manager at AVE Somerset, Cindy is responsible for the community’s back-of-the-house accounting, while supporting her team with operations and providing exceptional customer service to all residents.

Hillsborough, New Jersey

Q: How long have you been with AVE?
12 years

Q: What is a typical workday like for you?
There is no typical day, which is what I enjoy the most. There are always new experiences, new opportunities to learn, and business growth that helps us in turn grow as individuals and as a team.

Q: What brings you the greatest satisfaction in your role?
My greatest satisfaction is making our residents happy and comfortable and seeing them enjoy the carefree lifestyle we strive to create for them every day. It makes me so happy when someone expresses to us how much they enjoyed their time with us and how easy we made their transition.

Q: What is your favorite AVE amenity or service?
My favorite service is that we have the ability to provide something special to customize each stay pertaining to the needs of residents and their families. This is something that is unexpected to them and leaves a lasting impression, and always sets AVE apart from others.

Q: What is your favorite quote and why?
My favorite quote is from Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I love this quote because I truly believe that kindness goes a long way.

Q: What is your favorite spot in Somerset County, NJ and why?
My favorite spot in Somerset County is Colonial Park. It is a beautiful park that has something for everyone including a playground, paddle boats, golf, running paths, grilling areas, tennis courts, botanical gardens, and a dog park. It’s located just about a mile from AVE Somerset, so I recommend it to residents often. Growing up in Somerset County, it was I place I visited often and now I bring my own kids there to enjoy it as well.

Q: What’s something interesting about you that we might not know?
I drove cross country in a two-week trip starting from San Francisco, California to Somerset, New Jersey. I visited and camped in many beautiful states. Arizona and Utah were a couple of my favorite spots!
