AVE KING OF PRUSSIA HOSTS BLOOD DRIVE TO SUPPORT RED CROSS

King of Prussia, PA

12.05.2018

AVE King of Prussia hosted a Blood Drive in August, and met its goal of collecting 30 units of blood to support the American Red Cross.

Each unit is broken down into three separate parts, so thanks to the generosity of our team members, residents, and friends, the drive will help up to 90 people in the Philadelphia Area

AVE partnered with Wegmans, who provided complimentary snacks and beverages for donors at its Canteen Station. Wegmans also provided complimentary meals for Red Cross volunteers.

“Our teams are passionate about giving back to the communities in which we do business,” says Lea Anne Welsh, COO of Korman Communities and president of AVE, who personally gave blood that day. “We were excited for this opportunity to partner with Wegmans and host a blood drive at our new community in King of Prussia to help individuals right in our backyard.”

“We’re thrilled that AVE King of Prussia’s inaugural Red Cross blood drive was such a success, and we look forward to continuing to build our partnership,” said Alana Mauger, communications manager, Red Cross Penn Jersey Blood Services Region. “There is no substitute for blood; patients rely on the generosity of voluntary blood donors, and blood drive sponsors, like AVE King of Prussia, help make our mission possible.”

The American Red Cross shelters, feeds, and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission. For more information, please visit RedCross.org.
