AVE Hosts 3rd Annual Resident Appreciation Week — lucky to hAVE you!

Resident Appreciation Week

AVE hosted its 3rd Annual Resident Appreciation Week August 21-26.

This year’s theme was “lucky to hAVE you.”

Every AVE team organized a week of fun activities and events complimentary for all residents – even the four-legged ones – around the following schedule:

Taco Tuesday

Wellness Wednesday

Thankful Thursday

Food Truck Friday

Saturday Sips

National Dog Day

AVE Somerset not only coordinated a taco bar and margaritas on Taco Tuesday, they dressed the part – Regional Director Tara Decker, Senior Residential Sales Manager Brooke Tropeano, and Guest Services Manager Amanda Hauffe wore sombreros, mustaches, and maracas. “We want our residents to have a great time, and we love making them laugh,” says Tropeano. “And we have a lot of fun doing it.”

AVE King of Prussia set up a pool of yellow rubber ducks at the community for Thankful Thursday. Residents were invited to visit Resident Services throughout the day to pick a duck out of the pool to win cool prizes. “It was great watching the smiles on our residents’ faces when they won, especially the kids,” says Resident Lifestyle Coordinator Emily Brennan. “Plus, it’s always great when we create an opportunity to interact with our residents.”

“We pioneered resident activities at our communities almost four decades ago. We’ve always had the goal of creating a sense of community for our residents,” explains Lea Anne Welsh, president of AVE and COO of parent company Korman Communities. “But Resident Appreciation Week has become so special to us, and we look forward to it every year. We can’t say ‘thank you’ enough to our residents for choosing AVE as their home.”

AVE hosted its first Resident Appreciation Week “AVE Resident Love” in 2016. The goal was to do something special for our residents above and beyond the monthly Resident Reception, offering mini events and treats throughout an entire week to show appreciation. The week has grown every year with our teams’ creative spirit.
