At AVE, we feel it is important to give back during the holiday season. Every November and December, we host charity drives at all of our communities to support local food banks and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
This year, we were excited to partner with Move For Hunger for our Thanksgiving Food Drive. From November 2nd to November 23rd, we asked our teams, residents, and friends to donate unopened, non-perishable food items to help families in our communities celebrate Thanksgiving. Nearly 600 pounds of food were transported to Community FoodBank of New Jersey and Salvation Army of West Chester, PA, by Crown Relocations – NY and Two Men and A Truck of Greater Philadelphia, which will provide 485 meals.
In December, we organized a toy donation drive at all of our communities to benefit Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. From November 30th to December 18th, we asked our teams, residents, and friends to donate unwrapped toys to make the holidays brighter for kids in our communities. Nearly 200 toys were donated, including 2 bikes with helmets from an extremely generous resident at our Malvern community.
“It is important that we give back to our communities,” says Lea Anne Welsh, president of AVE and COO of Korman Communities. “I am always moved by the generosity of our residents, team members, and partners during the holiday season, and this year, the response was unparalleled!”
